It is endorsed by the Ministry of Higher Education Malaysia, and supported by Skills Malaysia of Ministry of Human Resources and Perbadanan Tabung Pendidikan Tinggi Nasional.

Previously known as the One Million Youth Gathering 2011 and Millions of Youth Gathering 2012, Putrajaya Youth Festival 2013 will feature about 500 events to attract visitors both locally and internationally. The festival is expected to attract 2.5 million visitors.

The event is held with the concept of helping youths to develop their potential, expanding creativity and building up unity among themselves.
